Bioon production
Bioon is a fertiliser made from biogas residue. Biogas is produced by anaerobic digestion of biodegradable waste and residues at a temperature of 40 °C for 40 days, with the biogas feedstocks being broken into small pieces in a hammer mill. After 40 days of fermentation, bioon is fed into a hygienisation unit where it is kept at 70 °C for 1 hour, at which point all pathogens are destroyed and the weed seeds lose their germination. After hygienisation, the dry and liquid bioon is separated by a screw press and packaged. The solid bioon is packed in 25 l plastic bags and the liquid bioon in 5 l canisters.
